P-Town Love!

Greeting to everyone.

So Pat and have begun our lives here in a basement apartment in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It will still be a while before we receive Oedipus stock, so please do not order from us for now!

However, in the new issue of Dazed Magazine, Mr. Zac Pennington of the ever so brilliant Parenthetical Girls gives big ups to the city of Portland, OR. As much as we love and miss our second favorite west coast city, the most awesome part of the article for us is really when he gives big props to Au. Oedipus bands showing Oedipus bands love always makes us super happy. So without further adieu, check out the article here

Hello Atlantic!

Hi guys,
so sorry about the lack of updates in regards to anything Oedipus. Basically we've been really busy with our personal lives and both Pat and I are finishing up our last semesters of school. However I have some pretty important news for everyone.

First off, I am now an employee of our favorite east coast label Aagoo. Aagoo is an New York City based label and has been around for about 5 years and put out some amazing albums. I will be bringing along all my Oedipus know-how to build up their catalog and really do something interesting. Although I can't really give all the details in the world, expect new albums by Foot Foot and Au in the next 6 months, as well as some great limited edition fun stuff.

Because of this, Pat and I are leaving our Southern California homes and moving to Brooklyn. Anyone who knows us can tell you that New York has been a pipe dream ever since we were 16, so we're really pumped.

Oedipus will still remain an active label, albeit for the most part limited edition 7"s. Nothing is certain right now, but we have a couple of really great people we're discussing working with. So keep checking the website! it will also function as our travel blog, since we'll be road trippin' it through most of the country.

so please keep checking out the site. The brand new Aagoo website should be up by next week. so check aagoo.com pretty regularly.

-Gabe

Upcoming: Foot Foot "Trumpet"/Casiotone for the Painfully Alone Picture Disc

Greeting all.
I want to thank everyone who made it out to see Au last weekend, it was great to see them and be able to hang out. Both shows also had were beyond epic, so really give yourselves a hand, and let's hope they come back real soon.

but moving along, there's some other really cool stuff coming up...

First off, Foot Foot has finished their sophomore album, entitled "Trumpet". It's moodier and darker than "Snaggle and Buck", but really shows the band so much more mature and structured. I haven't put it down since I got a copy, I really think it's an album that will turn some heads and make their fans even more devoted. This, like the Au album, will be a co-release with our favorite new yorkers Aagoo.

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone will also be making his second 7" appearance on Oedipus, this time on a collaboration picture disc with our old friend David Horovitz, who has gone from oddball guitarist in a local punk band to amazing photographer/tour manager for Xiu Xiu. The single will be limited to 500 and look amazing. It should be out before the end of the year. They will probably sell out super quick, due to people wanting to collect all the David Horovitz picture discs (with other brilliant acts like Xiu Xiu, the Lucky Dragons, High Places, etc), so keep looking for the pre-order.

Parenthetical Girls/Dead Science 7"

Good Evening
Tonight while killing time for Jail Weddings(ex starvations) debut show, I did a little inventory.

We only have 18 Copies of the Parenthetical Girls/Dead Science Tour only 7" left. So if you've been debating when to get it, I'd act pretty quick. After these are gone, there's no more. Because both songs are covers, we will not re-press the single. I believe Silencio and both bands are out of the single as well.
